new mexico passes autism insurance parity

many families with private insurance will benefit from the great work of the New Mexico state legislature. having insurance coverage of $40k per year for ABA and other therapies for children with autism is huge. when i think about our own family’s struggle, it’s comforting to know that there are several states out there that have passed this legislation. and, shame on the Washington state legislature for not even passing our legislation out of committee. i understand how difficult the times are and how difficult their job is right now. but this requires private insurance and employers to do what is right for the children they cover.
